Can you turn a regular grill into a built-in?
Yes, you can, and I have done this for clients. You‘ll want to make sure of a few things first: if your built-in grill has folding sides to act as a work surface you‘ll probably want to remove them. Leaving them on, even folded down, causes some big unsightly gaps between the grill and the surround.
Why are built in grills so expensive?
Burners are entirely made of the highest quality of steel that the manufacturers see fit to be used as a primary heat channel which will make the grill do its job. This too greatly contributes to the heavier price of built-in gas grills.
